    Delaware County is home to some of the most incredible annual and special events. Spring, summer and fall are typically opportunities for us to gather to celebrate our farming culture and our incredible food. These family-friendly fetes are opportunities to meet our farmers, pet animals, taste our local distilled spirits and so much more. Here is a list of the annual events you can typically count on but we recommend checking the events section of greatwesterncatskills.com as new events are added regularly.

    Meredith Dairy Fest, June, celebrates all things dairy with livestock, vendors, concessioners, vintage baseball, and loads of fun for kids.

     

    Fourth of July Celebration at Hanford Mills Museum is an annual Independence Day revel featuring old-fashioned family fun including frog jumping contests, a fishing derby, live music, sack races, and a tug of war.

     

    Margaretville Fire Department Field Days takes place every July in Margaretville, with a week-long carnival featuring music, fireworks, rides, vendors, and much more. Field Days are held each year in the days surrounding Independence Day.

     

    Stagecoach Run Art Festival, July in and around Treadwell, offers a self-guided tour to visit more than 50 artists’ homes and studios along rural backroads.

     

    Celebrate Roxbury, July, is the ultimate summer celebration of the town of Roxbury. Visitors enjoy food, drinks, entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides, and more.

     

    SpillianFest, July in Fleischmanns, serves up mountain magic around a bonfire with world-class food and fine musical performances.

     

    The Deposit Lumberjack Festival, July in Deposit, offers three days of fun, carnival rides, lumberjack competitions, tractor pulls, fireworks, and more.
     

    Annual Catskill Forest Festival, July in Margaretville, has 65+
    vendors, logging, forest and milling demos, arts, crafts, music, food, and more.

     

    AMR Open Studio Tour welcomes visitors to the galleries, barns, studios, and homes of artists of every discipline throughout Andes, Margaretville, and Roxbury.

     

    Andes Community Day takes place every August in Andes. A parade and events town-wide commemorate the history of the town of Andes.

     

    Delaware County Fair takes place each August. It is is an agricultural fair
    that attracts 80,000 people every year. Six days of exhibits, demos, livestock, food, carnival rides, and fun on the huge fairgrounds.

     

    Annual Hobart Sausage & Brew Festival, is an afternoon and evening focused on sausage sourced from local farms, New York State beer and cider, along with live music, games, and more in a beautiful streamside setting in Hobart.

     

    Bovina Farm Day takes place each Labor Day weekend in Bovina. It's a day-long
    agricultural festival held in Bovina’s fields with farm tours, hay rides, a scarecrow-making contest, old fashioned games and food.

     

    West Kortright Fair takes place each September in East Meredith, marks summer’s end with live music, food, and entertainment in an annual Labor Day extravaganza.

     

    Roxbury Revelry, September in Roxbury, observes Labor Day with fireworks, music, and family fun at Kirkside Park.

     

    Margaretville Cauliflower Festival, takes place each September in Margaretville. The festival honors the region’s cauliflower industry with food vendors, music, and a tractor parade.

     

    Delhi Harvest Festival, September in Delhi, presents local produce vendors, arts and crafts, fun activities, and live music on Courthouse Square.

     

    Woodsmen’s Festival is hosted each October in East Meredith, shows off woodworking and lumberjack skills, demos, exhibits, food, music, and vendors.

     

    For Arts’ Sake is held every October at Roxbury Arts Group, is the annual exhibition and auction to benefit the Roxbury Arts Group. Attendees can bid on museum-quality artwork from regional and international artists in a silent and live auction in a delightful party-like atmosphere.

     

    Fall Festival in Sidney, October, is a full day of family fun throughout the downtown village of Sidney.

     

    Annual Plattepalooza Family Fall Festival, takes place each October at Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury. BBQ, seasonal microbrews, pumpkin painting, face painting, craft vendors, and activities for kids including a magic show. Fun for all ages.

     

    Taste of the Catskills is held every Columbus Day weekend at Maple Shade Farm in Delhi. The event is a two-day festival of live music, culinary delights, workshops,
    activities, and performances.

     

    FIDDLERS! Usually takes place in October at the Roxbury Arts Center. This is the annual celebration of the traditional sounds of the Catskills with live music, square dancing, and great food.

     

    Ice Harvest Festival is held every first Saturday in February. Visit the Hanford Mills Museum property in February for a hands-on family fun day of workshops, demonstrations, ice fishing, and food vendors. Visitors experience the ice-harvesting process as it was done in the past.
